Vodacom recently launched a new app in Lesotho that helps customers who are connected to have control of their usage of the network. Mr. Rashid Tar-Mahomed, the managing executive of Vodacom Lesotho, said that the new app was also a show of transformation of the organization to full digitization.
Mr. Mahomed said that Vodacom Lesotho is committed to ensuring that their clients have access to world-class services and technology with every product launched in the country. The new app ‘My Vodacom App’ enables consumers to have control over their usage of SMS, voice minutes and data at all times. The app is designed to allow consumers to access vital information in a quick, easy and simple way making their experience of the network more enjoyable.
Mr. Mahomed described the new application as a platform from where one can access all his/her account details with only a touch of a finger. One is also able to access a detailed breakdown of their account, manage all services and buy airtime or internet data from their mobile phone. He also said that the new My Vodacom Lesotho App was a way for them to bring the company, their services, and products closer to their consumers. Though the company was late in efforts of facilitating the accessibility of their services, Mr. Mahomed expressed pride in finally having launched the app for their Basotho users.
Before the launch of My Vodacom Lesotho App, consumers would waste a lot of time in accessing balances and purchasing data through the USSD-menu which lacks a good user experience. The new app provides a solution to such problems with easy accessibility of products and services right from the cell phone. Mr. Mahomed said the new app improves user experience through its simplicity and speed. He was also optimistic that the new app would receive a positive reception by consumers with more features and functions expected to be introduced within the application.
The new app is available on both Google Play Store and AppStore for Android and iPhone users. On downloading the app, one will receive a onetime pin through SMS with which he will be logging into the app.
